Additional A Great Deal Of Bridge Problems Information
**RATED A++ by ACBL Bridge Bulletin!** This is the greatest bridge problem collection ever! Any Questions? Julian Pottage has developed a well-earned reputation as a great problem constructor. His answers are sharp, to the point, and usually make you say, "of course." Problem collections usually contain 50-100 deals. This one has almost 200, each fresher than the last. Try one problem each night before you go to bed. No sleeping until you get it right. Julian Pottage is an Associate Editor for Mr. Bridge, publisher of "Bridge" and contributes to many bridge magazines.

What Customers Say About A Great Deal Of Bridge Problems:
Nevertheless, this book shattered my illusions of competency. Somehow in practice, I kept missing. Pottage's book lives up to all it promises on the cover, and more. There really are lots of problems. "Top form" is a rare thing. To me, that's the mark of a great problem book - it helps you play up to your potential. Pottage really is a "premier puzzle poser" - his problems are varied and interesting. But most importantly, he avoids the usual problem *cough* *Kelsey* *cough* of analyses that have nothing to do with real-life bridge by being too contrived, too dependent on the opponents play, or just plain too complicated to benefit the reader's game.On a good day, I probably qualify as an expert player (if that's not a contradiction :-) ), and in top form I expect to solve the vast majority of these problems.
Nonetheless, it is fun to play them and then read below the learned author's footnotes about how he'd play.If you have to "play" alone, during a break at work or at home with a non-playing spouse, this book does a reasonable job of filling in. This book isn't perfect; I would like many more hands laid out so I could play them; I don't need instruction.
